Welcome to Innovative e-Research at VU.

The e-Research program/area is an application driven and multidisciplinary research involving collaboration among experts from three faculties, in particularly in ICT area and its applications in health care, environmental studies and legal information management. While the collaboration among different disciplines or domains is a challenging issue in e-research, our team members have demonstrated their commitment and strong potential for future success through their research excellence, existing collaborations and funded research projects.

E-Research covers e-Water, e-health,  e-Law/legal and Support technologies in Mobile Computing, Multimedia Systems, Smart Systems, Semantic Web Technologies, Web Services, Web Security, Knowledge Discovery.

The objectives of this program include:

• develop a strong and internationally competitive research team for e-research
• build track records and produce top level publications
• attract external funding and raise VU's research profile by increasing competitive funding from ARC & NHMRC
• attract high quality researchers to VU, and
• retain e-research excellence, and maintain VU's international leadership in this domain.
