Professor Ian Rouse Executive Dean Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science Victoria University

Dr Rouse is Professor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Sciences at Victoria University. I have broad experience in epidemiology and health research and significant experience in the design of experimental and community based interventions and evaluations. I have authored or co-authored more than 100 refereed papers, Review articles and book chapters and have been associated with approximately 40 presentations at scientific meetings. Over the past 20 years I have acquired a broad knowledge of epidemiology and health statistics, information planning and management, health policy and planning, public health and health research. I have authored or co-authored more than 35 Departmental reports and successfully supervised numerous doctoral and masters students. I have extensive experience in information planning and analysis and have a wide range of leadership, management and interpersonal skills accumulated over a period of 15 years in senior management of large information, analysis and research organizations. I have a long-standing interest in the soft-system issues associated with Health Informatics and Data linkage and have facilitated several national workshops on information principles and data linkage.
